Mantra

acknowledge, resonate, bloom

Mantra is a full-body experience of Sanskrit, a sacred vibrationally-based language.

Man(as)- mind + tra- tool = a tool for the mind

In Vedic traditions, mantras were revealed to advanced practitioners during deep states of meditation called samadhi. Mantras are chanted in Sanskrit, a vibrationally-based language, and each of the 50 sounds in Sanskrit resonates in a place in the human body.

Mantras can be a single Sanskrit word, a seed syllable called a bij mantra, or a powerful combination of several syllables combined. Mantras can be sung, spoken aloud or recited internally. In most mantras, the sounds are repeated continuously. The repition of these sacred sounds/syllables guides the mind to become focused, calming the nervous system and anchoring awareness to the present moment.

These offerings are donation-based. The practice of mantra is deeply personal, profound, and life-affirming. My love for this practice runs as deep as my love for music. I humbly want to share with you what I know and understand of this sacred practice, so that you may experience the beauty that is the essence of mantra itself.

Mantra

Satsang is a combination of two Sanskrit words: Sat meaning “true” and sangha meaning “community”. The definition of Satsang is often cited as “company of truth”, or association/gathering with the truth. To me, that is two-fold: associating with like-minded people on a spiritual path, but also associating with the truth within oneself. Details and sessions of each Satsang depend on the venue. A satsang is a spiritual gathering that includes kirtan (singing/chanting mantra), meditation, and spiritual discussions (dharma talks, etc.). This offering is near and dear to my heart, and is part of the Bhakti Yogi’s Path.

Mantra is such a beautiful, personal, and powerful practice. 1:1 mantra sessions are personalized to your intention or goal. We will find a mantra (or two, if requested) that resonates for you in your present-moment awareness. We will discuss Sanskrit, the meaning, how it applies to you, and the musical aspects/properties of the chant. Chanting mantra can be done out loud (with or without supplemental instruments, your voice is the most sacred instrument of all) or silently. If you would like harmonium guidance/lessons, that can be included in the session. Anyone can chant—you do not need a “good” voice or any musical experience at all. I would love to help you find your “voice” through this transformative practice.

“Chanting is a way of getting in touch with yourself. It's an opening of the heart and letting go of the mind and thoughts. It deepens the channel of grace, and it's a way of being present in the moment.” —Krishna Das
